More Disney Fun! Trick or Treat Adventure!

Halloween is upon us already! How did this happen? What happened to September?? Seriously- time is going way too fast and I can barely catch my breath! The girls are super excited about Halloween this year! Costumes are ready and my little trick-or-treaters got to kick Halloween into high gear this past week! It started with a walking field trip with their class to the local Farmer's Market. Everyone got to buy a small pumpkin and something for a snack. The girls did great picking out their pumpkins (which they REALLY wanted to put on their heads)- snack was Kettle Corn...hmmmm.... not the healthiest of choices at the Farmer's Market- but they are my children after all!
And then the BIG event finally came- we've been counting the days (actually we count the number of "sleeps") to our big Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at Disneyland's California Adventure! This is an event we look forward to every year! Trick or Treating at Disneyland? What could be better????

Ashley in her witch costume
Disneyland closes CA Adventure early- gets all their Halloween decorations out and then only lets in guests that have purchased tickets for this special event (our passes do not count towards admission- but we do get an excellent discount!!). For 4 hours the park is open to those with T or T tickets- there are stations throughout the park to go Trick or Treating and the rides are all open. In years past we've spent time going around seeing the different characters at the different Party Zones. The girls weren't as interested in them this year- so we stuck to rides and candy!
I love how every trick or treat picture I have the girls are checking out their loot!
Emily FINALLY decided on being a Mermaid (she literally changed her mind every day for 2 weeks! 14 different costumes! I kid you not! LOL When she said mermaid 3 days in a row it was settled!) Below she is posing at Ariel's Grotto restaurant- we didn't eat there- but she looks so cute- quite the pose! She knows how to work a mermaid dress!! I'm a little concerned after seeing her sash-shay around the park!!

Madeline decided early on she wanted to be a ladybug!
Toy Story ride!
This was Aunt Megan's first year at T or T night and her first trip to CA Adventure!
Susie and Emily- ready for action!
Hmmmm... my mom and I ended up together- I was blue- she was red. I win in points but she wins in accuracy!
Maddie and Megan

Aunt Sara, Joann and a very determined Ashley
Time to ride the carousel!

I was a little sad to not have a theme for their costumes this year- but I'm happy that the girls are getting to be individuals- they're still too cute! Theme or not!

Time to get more candy! What's nice about each station is that they also offer a healthier alternative! You could choose from sliced apples, raisin and craisins this year!
Starting to get sleepy. But still having so much fun!
The Family!
Tired eyes- time to head home!

Maddie and Grammie share a joke while waiting for the tram (or as the girls call it, "the tramp"- hey- it's a Disney movie right??)
Emily didn't make it to the car. LOL I did bring their jammies to change into one we got to the van.
And this is how Emily rode home!! HAHAHAHAHA! Such a ham! Yep- her feet are through the arms of the jacket and the hood over her head!
I'd say it was a successful night! Already thinking about next year- but first we have to get through all this candy!!!!!!!!!!

We have a new host for Favorite Foto Friday! (FFF) This week's theme is "Adventure" and I'd say for sure that our Trick or Treat night was an adventure!! If you'd like to check out more FFF pictures, please visit: Hannah's Blog! She takes beautiful pictures!! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Our Favorite Time of Year, with our Favorite People!

A few weeks ago we were supposed to go to Disneyland to celebrate Michelle's birthday. Sadly, Michelle ended up sick and Madeline was sick too. We met up last Sunday at the park to cash in our rain check! The girls and I were so happy to meet up with Michelle and Mike- now offical Annual Pass Holders to Disneyland!!!! YAY!!!

Maddie took no time in deciding that we should head to Splash Mountain so she could ride with Uncle Mike! It was closed at the time so we took a detour and went on the Haunted Mansion- all done up for Halloween (and the Nightmare Before Christmas!)

Halloween/Fall is my favorite time at Disneyland. The weather is nice (see- we're wearing JACKETS!) and the decorations are amazing!
While waiting for Splash Mountain we stopped and got a carmel candy apple to share!
It was the girls first!
Ashley preferred the marshmallow ears
Ashley and Aunt Chelle
Maddie grinning ear to ear waiting somewhat patiently for Splash Mountain
Hanging out in Critter Country
My BFF and me!
Emily and I did not ride on Splash Mountain so we went out to the front of the ride to try and catch them coming down the big drop- sigh... just missed them- but you can see Uncle Mike and Maddie.
Coming around the bend- I caught them (a little blurry) after the drop!
Maddie poses with one of the many scarecrows around the park...
And this was about the time we started to think Emily wasn't feeling too well...
But all she wanted to do was go see the animals- so we let her have her moment...

The goats were all done up for Halloween- complete with Halloween handkerchiefs!
More amazing decorations!
Emily and a gaggle of goats!
They had a pumpkin carving area where Disney cast memebrs were doing carving demonstrations.

And inside there were scenes with" scarecrows"

We went on Star Tours after that and then decided to throw in the sick-towel and head home.
Now that Michelle and Mike have their passes we can go back again!
We did make one final stop to let Maddie spend her Tooth Fairy money- she ended up with a cute Mickey pencil set!
Sadly- Emily's illness has made its way through everyone (adults too) and has made for a challenging week! We are on the tail end of it now (I hope!) and hopefully everyone will be returning to school on Tuesday (no school on Monday). They each missed 2 days last week-with someone home every day. Here's hoping for a healthier week this week and many more fun Disney trips this Fall!!!!

Breaking News! A Visit from the TOOTH FAIRY!!!!

Madeline came to me Wednesday night before dinner and told me that it hurt her tooth to eat. Panicked (she has a cavity that we are going to the dentist for on Monday) I asked her to show me what tooth. Too my surprise- she showed me a front tooth and it was dangling on the verge of falling out! Holy cow! Not at all what I was expecting! Thursday it held on and we discussed the importance of not swallowing it if it came out while she was awake (and yes- I stressed out over her swallowing it while she was asleep!). Friday morning we were rushing around getting ready to go to school. Maddie went in to brush her teeth (I was doing Ashley's hair) and Maddie started yelling, "My tooff, my tooff!" Leaving Ashley with half her hair done I ran into the bathroom! Maddie was frozen in place- mouth full of tooth paste and a hand out. It took me awhile to find the tooth- it was in her hand and then we celebrated! She couldn't wait to go to school to tell everyone that she was the first to lose her first tooth! Her sisters were very excited for her and the discussion of the tooth fairy began! I dropped the girls off at school (Maddie saw her teacher in the hallway and made her hear the whole story!), then I headed out to find Tooth Fairy books! Apparently there aren't a lot of tooth fairy books available in local stores. There are TONS on the internet- but I ended up checking a few out from the library (though I did find and buy the new Skippyjon Jones book!).

After school I got Maddie to sit for a few pictures and we got her tooth ready to put under her pillow.

It took them all awhile to fall asleep, but magically once they all did- the tooth fairy did her job and didn't disappoint!

The tooth was gone and a letter was left... Maddie read it all on her own (everyone was up at this point from all the excitement! In fact Ashley came in our room at 6:00am asking if she could see what the tooth fairy brought... we said no!) and was so excited to find...
5 Disney Dollars enclosed!

The tooth fairy will now bring one disney dollar for every tooth she looses after this one- but she thought it would be good to start with a special amount for the first. ;o)
We went to Disneyland today and Maddie decided to spend it. She bought a pencil set! And so we prepare to start another round of milestones! Amazing enough, Maddie lost this tooth almost 5 years to the day that she first cut this tooth! I have to look up the exact date- but I know it was this time of year! Amazing huh!?!?! We're so proud of her!
