FFF#10 Pajama Party
Happy Friday! Hope everyone had a nice short week! Our weather is perking up! I'm going to be good and keep with the ONE picture theme for this week's FFF- which Sarah chose to be "Pajama Party"- I have so many pj pictures to choose from- BUT when I walked into my bedroom Wednesday morning while I was getting ready for work, I couldn't resist taking this one! Hmmm.. how nice that Daddy (yes- that big lump on the far side is daddy) and his girls get to sleep in while I get ready to go to work!
Have a great weekend everyone! We have another busy one!

Press Release #2!
(pictures and details of our San Diego weekend below!)
We interrupt your San Diego report to bring you the news that as of this morning we have three REGISTERED Pre-K students in our home!
I took in all the paperwork this morning to enroll the girls in the Pre-K program at my school for the fall! Maritza and Maria (pictured with me) were so patient and awesome in the process (those packets were HUGE and I made several mistakes along the way!) This is an ENORMOUS (to use Maddie's word of the week) event in our house! The girls will be able to go to school with me and come home with me! Grammie will be volunteering 1x a week and watching them on Friday (the program is 4 days a week). Can you see the light we are seeing????

Is this San Diego?
We survived our first family vacation/weekend away! The girls were excellent travelers and I am so proud of them! The trip down took a little over 3 hours (with one potty break). All the way down they asked "does that sign say San Diego?" I think at one point they thought just the hotel was San Diego. Our hotel was great- the girls quickly referred to it as our "home" and didn't want to leave it- even to go eat. (They did have some interesting versions of saying "hotel"- inlcuding our favorite- showtel) The best part about our hotel- it had a porcelin CHEETAH in the hall. It was hysterical and so fitting considering the girls love of animals- only we would find the hotel with safari decorations! (I"m really bummed- a series of pictures from the weekend are STUCK on my laptop and its not letting me open them or do anything with them- I'll have the computer guy at school take a look tomorrow- of course- the cheetah picture is among them along with the girls getting their camera- sigh!)
We were right on the marina so our views were awesome and the girls loved watching the boats come in and out. We also had a lot of ducks around that the girls loved throwing their cereal to- yep- ducks LOVE Cookie Crisp too!
We laughed a lot this weekend! Sea World was a HUGE hit and the girls seemed to enjoy it all (except poor Maddie who was less than impressed with the Shamu show- I think it was sensory overload- it was loud, people were clapping, Shamu was splashing- Rick took her out toward the end; she did much better with the dolphin show and pet show). We took the above pictures at the end of the day and she was fine with seeing Shamu up close like that.
Emily getting splashed in the face by a playful dolphin!
Waiting for the Shamu show
It was Opening Day for the Sesame Street "Bay of Play" so lots of characters and fun things to do and see!
The weather was great! We were supposed to have rain all weekend- besides a 20 minute shower on the way down we maybe had a few drops here and there- otherwise the weather was great- not too hot, not too cold- perfect! Lots of stories and pictures to share (including pictures the girls took with their new Fisher Price digital Camera! Thanks Grandpa!) Keep checking back all week!

FFF #9: Only One!
Sigh- Sarah chose a tough one this week- we have to post our ONE favorite picture of the week! YIKES! I literally take hundreds of pictures per week. Well- i think I got it! Getting all 3 girls to look at the camera and cooperate happens once in a blue moon around here- but this picture is a great way to solve this problem and I absolutely LOVE it!
We are off to San Diego/Sea World this weekend! Lots of pictures to share on Monday I'm sure! Have a great weekend!

Grandmother, what big ears you have!
When I came home from work today this is what I saw:
Remember my Mother's Day post proclaiming my mom is awesome? This is why! I never know what I will come home to, but it always makes me smile! Ashley was really into playing Little Red Riding Hood today. Mom said they played for over an hour and kept elaborating on the story each time they re-enacted it. Ashley was Red, Grammie was the wolf, Maddie was the Wood "Chomper"/Rescue Ranger Chip (maddie likes multiple roles) and Emily was, well- a horse, a baby wolf and a variety of other forrest creatures. I got to be Red's mommy when I got home; my job was to give her the basket of cookies to take to grandmother, who was sick. I'm going to have to get this on video- its too cute!

The wood chomper going after the wolf! Rescue Ranger Chip saves the day!

FFF #8 Fun the Sun!
It's funny the memories that come to your mind with just a simple phrase. Sarah chose "fun in the sun" as her FFF this week. When I read that I instantly had this memory:
When I was young, my mom, sister and I would travel to CT for a few weeks every other summer to visit family. My aunt and grandma would always have a picnic and we'd invite all the family (both sides) to come and have fun. We always tried to have a theme- one year it was crazy shorts, another was crazy hats (hmmm... am I seeing a "crazy" pattern???). The picnics were always fun and a great way for everyone to catch up. One year the local beach was having a commercial run on the radio- it wa a cute song that went something like this: "Fun in the Sun; Ocean Beach Park; Fun after dark; Ocean Beach Park!" Catchy and stuck with you! Ocean Beach is a classic east coast beach complete with a board walk (and don't forget their famous bird poop!)! Anyways- back to the picnic- we decided to do the bunny hop to the Ocean Beach park theme that year as part of the entertainment (not sure what prompted that) but hilarity ensued when we lined up in our crazy hats and sang "fun in the sun..." doing the bunny hop down my Little Grandma's drive way. My mom has all the picture evidence of this event- I will try to get them to share with all of you.
The girls bring about new "fun in the sun" and since I recently shared with you pictures from the latest pool parties- here are a few oldies that I love:

Superwoman?

My blogging friend Jennifer had the Alicia Key's "Superwoman" song on her blog for Mother's Day and did an awesome tribute to all the moms in her life (I've filed the idea in my head for next year- but I'm telling you all now so you can remind me too- never know what the "triplet brain" will do with it!) I received this cartoon in an email on Mom's day and thought the 2 went perfectly together! :) I've added "Superwoman" to my playlist- scroll to the bottom and it is the last song listed- I believe you can click on it to hear it right away.
