We love the NICU doctors and nurses!

Last weekend we attended the annual NICU Graduates party at the hospital the girls were born at. These doctors and nurses hold a special place in our heart and we love going to visit them! While the girls were born almost to term (35 weeks!) they were still early and had to spend some time in the NICU- Emily and Maddie stayed for 3 weeks and Ashley for 5 weeks. We are VERY fortunate that none of our girls needed any serious medical intervention when they were born. They just had to learn how to eat and to grow.

As a new mom- a new triplet mom- that went through 2 1/2 months of bed rest and really nothing of a "normal" pregnancy, it was very rewarding to make it as far as I did and have such healthy babies- however- one of the hardest things we had to do was leave our babies at the hospital when I was discharged. The doctors and nurses there made this difficult time easier. We knew these men and women loved our babies and would take the very best care of them when we weren't there. We could call any time of the day or night and get updates (and we did). They did all they could to educate us on our precious little bundles so that we could leave with confidence in our ability to care for them.

Below is a picture of the girls with Dr. M~ she is the doctor that was in the delivery room when the girls were born and oversaw their immediate care. We have her voice in the video talking with us. She is the one that also let us take our first family picture in the delivery room and also allowed the girls to be properly introduced to the many family members waiting anxiously in the hall before they were taken to the NICU.

I will forever be grateful to the doctors and nurses at our hospital! And I love that they have a party every year to invite us all back and celebrate!
