First Field Trip!

Exciting week for us! The girls had their first field trip and thus, their first SCHOOL BUS ride! I was lucky and got to be one of the parents to go on the trip. We went to our local aquarium at Cabrillo Beach for Pre-School days and had a blast! Getting ready to load the bus! Such excitement! We combined the AM and PM classes into the one trip.
Sitting on the bus- ready to take off- everyone cheered as the bus started to move (I cheered because their was air conditioning on this bus! Brilliant! We had record highs on Monday and Tuesday this week- we hit 100 degrees! We needed that a/c!)

Once we got to the aquarium we got to go through a series of learning stations about the ocean and ocean life. Below the kids are pretending to be whales jumping out of the water.
The highlight of the trip was hatching grunion fish!

Madeline was successful at getting a fish- everyone else just got to the egg stage.

Emily looks for fish...

After the stations we got to go into the aquarium for a bit- I had my 3 girls and then 3 other students (Just call me Kate! LOL) Here we are entering the shark exhibit.

We found these grunion cut outs and everyone had to get a picture...
Emily and Maddie make fish lips...
We had a lot of fun and can't wait for our next field trip in May to the LA Zoo!!!!

Just in Time for Easter~

Yes- I know Easter was last weekend, really, I'm not a week behind! I was getting ready to take the girls picture last weekend to put up here on the blog with our happiest Easter wishes to you all and well- things didn't go as planned. We had egg decorating done and cake making to do. I thought- I'll just check my email real quick and we'll go outside is this awesome weather to take a picture... well... that's when we played a little game I like to call...

One of these triplets is not like the other!
oh dear! The culprit (is there any surprise that its Emily?) came running into the computer room proudly announcing, "Look mommy, I'm a tiki man!" Huh? My initial shock brought panic to her eyes (she was so proud of herself) and I could see her starting to crumble- at that moment I started laughing hysterically (never trust a quiet moment to check your email!) and she beamed with pride once again. So I told her I wanted to get my camera from the van. I walked out to the van and as I walked back up the sidewalk- Maddie came running out of the house yelling, "Look mommy, I'm a tiki man too!" Ah well- my fault for walking out right? Monkey see, monkey do in our house! She then panicked a bit and started erasing her face (did I mention this was all white board marker?) with the eraser from the marker- I told her it was ok- we were going to take a picture first and then I would wash it off. Thus- hers is half gone...Now what about Ashley in all of this? I think about this time she was getting the idea that maybe she should be a tiki man too- this mommy was on to them by now though (what's the saying? once- shame on you, twice, shame on me?) and had the right mind to firmly tell her- "Ashley, don't even think of writing on your face- you're best off just sitting here next to your sisters and smiling!" And she did!

If you picked Ashley in the game above then- you are the winner and you get a gold star (just like she did!)So here is our Easter picture! ;-) We hope you had a great day! I'll post more pictures from the weekend later!

FFF: A Fine Line Between Cute and ICK!

Meet Emily's pet snail. Emily usually is freaked out when it comes to bugs (especially bees) but snails on the other hand make her very maternal. She loves carrying them around, putting them in her bug catcher and picking leaves and flowers for them.
We were out in the front yard today enjoying the sun, it was windy and there was a chill in the air, but still nice out. We tried to ignore the incoming dark clouds and the possible rain in them. Emily found this snail and had to take care of him. She first put him in the basket on the back of her tricycle. Then she decided to keep him with her on the playhouse.
I couldn't resist snapping these pictures. I think they're neat (even though I am grossed out at the thought of the slime on that snail).

She ultimately put him in the bug catcher with some leaves and left him under my care (meaning I got to hold the carrier in my lap) while she finished playing with her sisters. Lucky for the snails she has so far agreed to let them loose at the end of each day!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend! We're looking forward to seeing lots of family and friends on Sunday! HAPPY EASTER!

FFF- GREEN = SPRING!

Spring is here! Our peach and plum trees are in full bloom and its time for our annual peach tree pictures of the girls.
EmilyAshelyMadeline

More pink than green, but still fun right? It's always a challenge to get them to stand next to the tree because of the bees. Maddie is ok with them- but Ashley and Emily go into a full dramatic meltdown at the sight of a bee right now- so trying to get a smile in the middle of a panic attack is tough! LOL To help them a bit I waited until the end of the day to take these pictures and most of the bees had gone off to their hives to rest. :)
