Father's Day 2008

I am going to honor Rick throughout the week as we will be celebrating Father's Day with him next weekend- he is working a car show this weeknd. So I get to spend today's blog celebrating the one and only dad in my life!
My dad has always been there for me and supported me in all my crazy decisions in life! I'm so grateful for all of this and for all that he has done for me and my family (my family and me as my dad would correct me). I know I am blessed to have the dad I have, he works hard and has always put family first. He obviously adores our girls and I love watching them interact with him, especially now that they are little people and carry on actual conversations. But I will always remember when the girls were so little and he would be so patient with them and would walk with them (usually Maddie crying with colic) up and down his hallway singing to them. Grandpa taught the girls the ABC song for sure! When we moved in down the street he was here every night after work to take turns feeding babies and helping to put them to bed. Of course he always claimed "grandpa priviledge" when it came to diapers- but I certainly don't blame him for that one! Yes- dad is a great dad and an awesome grandpa! Happy Father's Day Dad! I love you! XOXOXO

FFF #12 BLOOPERS!

How fun to choose a bloopers theme for Favorite Foto Friday! We have tons of those, in fact- i have more bloopers than regular pictures! So this week I thought I'd give you a peek into what really happens when we attempt group shots. So for your amusement- I present to you our best bloopers from our christmas card shoot (the photo we chose is the one on the header here- and still not everyone is looking at the camera!) and a few others that I found along the way. Enjoy!
(Edited to add: notice how sometimes the blooper culprit is DADDY! Worse than the kids I tell ya!) Too see more FFF Blooper pictures make sure you check out Sarah's blog!

When blogging buddies meet!

Very exciting day for me today! This is Jennifer! I met jennifer through blogging! We both participate in the Favorite Foto Friday. To show that there really are only 20 people in the world (or six degrees of kevin bacon if you prefer!)- Jennifer lives in the midwest- but her hometown is where I live! Chances are we at one point were driving next to each other or standing in line together and didn't know it! It took the internet and Sarah to bring us together! (thank you Sarah! And- we both found sarah through the same blog: Faithful Froggers)

So how cool is it that Jennifer is in town with her family this week for a visit and they were able to take time out of their schedule to meet up with us today at the beach! It was packed- but we found each other and the kids had a great time at the park play area and at the beach itself (though I got wetter than I had planned holding onto Maddie- why is it the child that can't stand to take a bath LOVES the beach/water?!)
The whole crew!
We hope the rest of your visit here in CA is great- you're going to some of our favorite places! The girls talked all the way home about their new friends! They also thought we were going to Jennifer's house when we left- guess they felt the party shouldn't stop! You know- this internet is an amazing thing! I have "met" so many people as a result of it that I never would have known! I hope we can meet again!

FFF #11: Disorderly Conduct

Ahhh the memories this FFF brings! With triplets one has to ask when do we NOT have disorderly conduct in our house? There are 2 moments that came right to mind when I read sarah's choice for this week's Favorite Foto Friday. You know when it all of a sudden gets quiet in your house and you just KNOW that's not good? Both of my moments this Friday are moments like that- when you just say to yourself- "uh oh!" and then RUN! The first happened a few months ago- I entered the girls room (it was too quiet) and found this...This is their bookshelf. Not very sturdy and thank goodness tiny Emily got on the top shelf! Think bunk beds are in our future???

My second moment brought on my first call to Poison Control. I didn't realize you could have a powder party like this and stay quiet- but they did! Poor Maddie got puffed right in the face! This was Feb. 2007- look how little they are! Of course this was talc powder- and apparently it can be lethal if you inhale too much of it- sigh- then why make BABY powder out of it (yes- I'm still not over it!)? So after taking the pictures and video and letting them help clean it up, I find out all of this- so Poison Control I called. The nice man on the line was reassuring (and didn't laugh too hard at me as I told him my almost 3 year old triplets had a talc powder party). So the girls were fine, but our poor satellite box (just behind the semi-circle table) never recovered and had to be replaced! Here's a little FFF Video to go along for full effect! ENJOY!

Press Release #3! Embarrassing?????

I was NOT expecting this for several years but my sweet Madeline informed me on the way home from our friend Trevor's birthday party that I AM EMBARRASSING! Yes! It's already happened! Here's the run down-
I am in the far back seat with Ashely. Maddie and Emily are in the center row and Rick is driving. We are almost home- Emily has just woken up from a cat nap and Ashley is talking my ear off (she did all the way home). From NOWHERE (nowhere I tell you!) Maddie says: "Mommy, you're embarrassing!" Emily then laughs hysterically and says, "Nah- Maddie you're just kidding!" and maddie replies, "NO- I'm right!" WHAT??? So I asked her- "Why am I embarrassing?" Her response? "You act silly mommy!" Rick is in the front in hysterics and he is lucky there was a row between us or I would have been able to reach him!

So there you have it! It has begun! So for kicks here is Maddie's version of "I am the champion" as sung in the Chicken Little movie:

For your assistance here are the subtitles:
I am a chicken my friend
And I’ll keep fighting in the end- bowh-bowh-bowhn
I am a chicken, I am a chicken
Gone is the noodle
For I am the chicken…..of the WORLD! Yao!
FYI- if you haven’t seen the movie the lyrics are not changed in it from the Queen version - this is just Maddie’s interpretation of the lyrics (though she has all the intonation right as far as loud and soft go LOL)
