Our cousins Betty and Charles from Sacramento were visiting the San Diego area last week with their kids and grandkids and invited us down to their condo for a BBQ. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to see family we happily drove down to see everyone! We intended to walk down to the beach, but as we hit the parking lot, a shuttle bus pulled up and asked if we needed a lift to the beach? So after confirming he wasn't kidding we all hopped on (5 adults and triplets) and rode down to the water. The girls loved being in the "bus" and we enjoyed the ride.

Betty and Charles with Emily
The girls loved being by the water- our gagoon doesn't have waves, so they were a tad nervous (well- who am I kidding- Maddie was ready to jump in- and she pretty much did).

Ashley and Grandpa digging (of course LOL)
There were a TON of rocks- including some really big ones- I think one might have come home in grammie's purse. LOL

Emily pondering the scene...
We got ready to head back and Emily states, "Ok- let's go find that shuttle!" poor dear was not happy she had to walk back.

We have to walk HOW FAR?
We walked through a cute little shopping center that reminded me of Shoreline Village in Long Beach. We hit the condo and changed into our swimsuits and headed out to the pool.

The girls loved the little pool- they were able to crawl around and pretend to swim. We got all three to stick their mouths in and blow bubbles (though Maddie took awhile to get the concept) and grandpa was happy to take turns with them in the big pool. Ashley, again, was nervous and preferred the smaller.

After some convincing we got out of the pool and headed upstairs for a great BBQ and some more time to visit and catch up. Betty gave the girls "
Skippyjon Jones" books and they were happy to have anyone read to them. (I highly recommend them- they are HILARIOUS!)

Too soon it was time to head home. The girls were great travelers once again! Thank you Betty and Charles!
